Let’s face it York County is not exactly an international hub of competition. So when an international sporting event comes here it is a big deal, or at least it should be. Well, one is. Amateur Disc Golf World Championships are coming to York County next week!
Hosted by the Gifford Pinchot Disc Golf Club and South-Central PA Disc Golf LLC as well as several other local clubs, the Amateur Disc Golf World Championship will be held from July 20 through July 27 with competition beginning on July 23. Nicely Done Sites constructed the website for this event and is one of the core sponsors.
York County A Hub For Disc Golf
Multiple different courses will be used throughout York County as well as one in both Lancaster and Cumberland counties and Wyndham Gardens on Loucks Road will be tournament central. Both men and women will be competing in this competition in multiple different divisions with the finals being held on Codorus State Park’s Red Course outside of Hanover on July 27. This course hosted the 2005 state championship and is rated as one of the most difficult courses in Pennsylvania at 7,223’ and par 62.
The World Is Coming To York County
Players are coming to York County from throughout the world from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, Finland and Germany so take advantage of a major international event and come out and check it out.
